Associate Seamus O’Connor is a Chicago suburbs native who earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2019. He went on to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 2025, graduating with a concentration in Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. His unique academic background in psychology complements his approach to legal practice, particularly in matters involving complex interpersonal dynamics and high-conflict litigation.
Seamus practices primarily in family law and has experience across the full spectrum of family law matters, from negotiated resolutions to contested litigation. He approaches each case with the same level of preparation and attention, regardless of the size or complexity of the issues involved. Seamus strives to practice in a way that combines careful counseling, practical negotiation, and, when necessary, zealous advocacy to achieve outcomes that are both effective and sustainable for his clients, always seeking solutions to minimize potential conflict down the line.
Seamus’s personal, clinical, and professional experience provides him with a well-rounded perspective on family law disputes. With firsthand experience of the realities of high-conflict divorce, he is particularly attentive to the individualized needs of each client and their family. He works to develop practical solutions tailored to the circumstances of the parties involved, recognizing that family law matters require an approach that is both legally sound and grounded in careful consideration of the individuals and families affected.
Seamus is a valued member of our team who works closely with clients and approaches each matter with care, attention, and a willingness to take on whatever issues arise, whether large or small.
